Final Cut Man, this thing was so disappointing. The plot wasn't all too compelling, I didn't really like any of the characters, and the line delivery was so awkward. But, the set design and the visuals were stunning and spectacular, but all it did was just make me more excited to see 2049

This is probably one of the most challenging films I have had to review. On the one hand, the movie is incredible at achieving its goal. The world is fascinating, the cinematography captures the tone incredibly well, the production and sets are  rich and well made and the score is very atmospheric. On a technical scale it’s marvelous and I will say the film has not left my brain since I watched it last night. The movie is very memorable and the mood it gives really doesn’t leave you.It put me in a really bad and unhappy mood but that was defiantly the point. However I can’t deny that I didn’t enjoy watching it and I honestly could do without ever watching it again. It’s not even that it’s such a downer movie, it’s just that the film is the same mood for the entire film and it never changes from melancholy, lonely or just uhh shitty. watched The Final Cut I'm a bit conflicted here because on one hand, I found the world built here extremely more interesting aesthetically than the one in 2049. (And I think if I rewatched these two I would like this one better). But I was kinda sleepy during this watch for a few moments. The atmosphere here is incredibly rich. It doesn’t just feel like “future” but carries a bunch of qualities that feel lived in. There’s a tiny scene with a bunch of people on bikes that feels almost accidental and it’s awesome. Overall, an image that's very textured and a world that feels very live in. The way the images of eyes, which are so important to the narrative here, are filmed feels so iconic. I love the Voight Kampf test scenes. They sort of carry the main ideas of the central theme of humanity of the film, and when paired with the interactions between Deckard and Rachel, feel just…
