“and they never came back.” What an amazing film. The messages of alcoholism, of weaponizing children, are so tragic. There is a lot of funny moments in this film but it is heartbroken at its core. An incredibly crafted movie that I will watch again and again.

Adding a marvel-like tone to overused tropes isn't advancing the genre; it's dumbing it down. And congratulations, Earth's directors. You did it, you sons of bitches really did it. You turned title cards into crutches! And speaking of crutches, I lost count after the tenth jump scare

i’m honestly blown away!! some of the sharpest writing i’ve ever seen in a horror movie. the non-linear structure could’ve easily been messy, but here it felt so smooth and everything clicked together perfectly. the ending was a bit too abrupt for me though. i kept waiting for more because the whole premise was just that strong. and amy madigan? wow. gladys genuinely creeped me out, which almost never happens for me with horror characters. easily one of the most unsettling performances i’ve seen in a while.

I'm neither completely disappointed nor satisfied, I had high expectations when I sat to watch the movie from the trailer and hype around this movie. But the mystery was not that engaging and the way it was delivered, means how it unfolded it wasn't so surprising and not even worth that build up, or maybe I wasn't in good state to watch this type of movie but anyways the main plot didn't worked for me. Now coming to the horror and dark comedy part, dark comedy worked for me most of the time and even in the climax scene(lol), but horror wasn't that good like people were saying, like it wasn't scary and the horror feel was okay. But the characters were the part which pretty hooked me throughout the movie. Maybe I would give it a watch again if someday I feel like watching slow horror movie.
