Relentlessly cool and amazing that this exists, but what we lost wasn't that great either. Please try co-directing, buddy :(

“I'm Not Broken, & I'm Not Alone.” Those words form the central thesis of Zack Snyder’s final vision of his film with DC’s Paragons of Virtue. This movie feels like the culmination of Snyder’s vision, as much as the fans fought for Snyder to display his vision for the film it also is bittersweet as he was originally taken off the film due to a tragic death in the family. Although with him being rehired, he dedicates this movie to his daughter’s memory. As it’s own standalone film it does pretty well, even if there are a couple of oversights. As the final film in a trilogy…it accomplishes its job competently. In comparison to the dumpster fire that was released in 2017. It’s like watching The Godfather. That’s how huge the gap is… quality wise. Zack Snyder is a famous filmmaker known more for his elite visuals, so his movies looking good is a given. From start to finish the movie was aesthetically pleasing & engaging. Do not fret, his visual style is still present and if you’ve seen his other work you’ll see similarities with the grading,editing & cinematography (300, Sucker Punch, Watchmen, Man Of Steel& Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

**Grade: Good Minus ** I thought this movie would make me like Justice League more, but instead did the opposite. It reminded me how much I dislike the DCEU. The CGI wasn’t good. The acting wasn’t great. And it just felt like a 4 hour long dud. It wouldn’t have been better if it was broken out into separate episodes like Netfix did for the Hateful Eight Extended Cut. It took my 4 different sittings to get through it.  Barry (Flash) I think was my favorite character, but mainly because I’m a sucker for comedy relief. I couldn’t stand how he flared his arms out when running. It just looked silly. 

I really wish I could’ve liked this: The new runtime makes it so you get to know the characters way better than in 2017's one. Cyborg specially has way more scenes that explain his powers and show his relationship to his father. This time they explained a lot more. There are no Brunch jokes, or Flash landing on Wonder Woman's boobs, so that’s a thing. The 2017 version was a real mess. I could feel some heart to what Snyder was trying to do here. But I didn’t like it The main villain is still very bland, with little to no character. The movie thinks it is a drama even if the characters on screen are saying something as silly as “anti-life equation”, or Wonder Woman responding “I belong to no one” in a moment that had nothing to do with that. Add to that many fight scenes that feel weightless because everyone is a demigod and slow-motion used so excessively that it never has any impact. Most of the choices in this feel without any purpose, such as the aspect ratio, the fan-service moments and the epilogue that literally points to movies that will not be made.

I know many would just compare to the older one and review. But let me just say that without comparing, as a stand-alone film this was quite good and enjoyable even if it was 4 hours long. My problem with the film was (I know Zack had full freedom here) that some of the scenes were massively unnecessary. I don’t get the epilogue and why it was there. Yes, there were some important hints at what to come in the future but most of it were like “Oh, I had these scenes, let me put that too”. I think with full freedom, there should be some control over that freedom too because it can easily get over-indulgent. Anyways coming to the good stuffs, it was obviously much more of character development especially cyborg and also flash to some extent and then the action sequences were great and Zach’s signature slow motion stuff is one of the main reasons why I wanted to watch this and I got way too…

I am in love with this movie. Seen it five times already.
