Do not watch it on the phone, you will look away, you’ll press pause and turn it off. Watch it in the cinemas if possible or alternatively a large tv with the controller as far away to disuade you from pausing. The reaction you will have to the movie in a way is a representation of what the characters go through when learning of the main reveal in the movie. The movie shines a mirror at societies own hypocritical reactions to other people’s errs. It handles comedy and drama like a juggler at a circus while its best act is the masquerading of what is actually a horror movie. The movie is not perfect by any means. It’s choppy, and by design at times. The performances are great all around. They suade to empathy and apathy by revealing the intentions of the (on paper) most innocent characters. Weaponized victimhood and the inability to forgive, that the world relies on so heavily now at…

We live in a world where the vast majority of our lives is spent in a virtual, incredibly unreal place. It starts when we are born and continues throughout the rest of our mortal existence. We share every aspect of our lives. Every thought we’ve ever had. Every thing we’ve ever done. There is a place and a family for everyone here. Everyone, anyone, is accepted here. Somewhere.  On the other side is a world where the only way to exist is to lie. To be disingenuous. To hide. To hide your emotions. Lest your inner secrets are found out and you become shunned and banished.  And we are taught that we should prefer the latter world. That we should lie and buy into the lie. We believe that because everyone presents themselves in a certain way, that is who they truly are. And that you are what’s wrong. You are broken. You are different. 

This concept doesn't work 9 out of 10 times, so kudos to Borgli for pulling it off. Its also the second time he's stuck the landing - both The Drama and Dream Scenario end on magical little moments where you think, "maybe we're both crazy enough for this to work out." I think I like Borgli so much because he understands the importance of feeling empathy

the movie is the definition of “a hot mess.” zendaya looks absolutely breathtaking, and robert is solid as always, doing what he does best. but beyond that, the film just feels hollow. it leans heavily into this idea of social commentary, but it comes across as more superficial than poignant. visually it tries to say a lot, but none of it really sticks. it’s not terrible, just… forgettable, in my opinion.

Trochę film sprzeczności, bo zajebiście kreatywne zabiegi mieszają się tutaj z robieniem filmu od linijki i disneyowskim vibem. Ale może w 2k26 potrzeba nam - ludziom trochę tej disneyowskiej naiwności? Also Partinson top, jak zwykle od czasu kiedy zagrał u Eggersa, ale zaskoczyło mnie to... że Zendaya chyba jeszcze lepsza(?). No i wyśmienity score.
