I was really hoping that on a second watch this would all click together for me and make sense. I would see exactly what Maggie Gyllenhaal was going for and hail this as an outspoken masterpiece. But alas, that did not happen. I was left with the exact same feelings I had when I left the theatre the last time. One of bewilderment and disappointment. There is such promise here. The movie looks so good. The leads give good performances with what they are given to work with. Maggie seems great at executing A vision, but she really just needs another voice in the writers’ room.

Szkoda tylko, że pod tą sferą dostajemy jedynie wydmuszkę, która donośnie wykrzykuje w kołko jedną ideę o pseudorówności, jednocześnie wyraźnie faworyzując stawianie na piedestał, zamiast cokolwiek wyrównywać. No i to aż przykre, że dla takich sloganów Maggie Gyllenhaal posunęła się aż do obleśnej nekromancji.
