For a directorial debut (Egor Abramenko) this is a solid alien movie that is much more than just an alien movie. Basically Russia was (or is?) a country where everybody was trying to be a hero be it any profession. Especially here in this film many characters use the line “He’s a hero” “We want to be a hero” “Want to win noble prize”. Multiple times “Hero” word is used. But are they really doing something that is humane in nature which is the true quality of a HERO or are they doing just for the heck of getting a HERO tag from the government?? This part is something which really made me think about. Powerful people are soaked so much in their power that “Humanity” word is lost somewhere. Taking advantage of everything to upgrade their position. How brilliantly this Sci-Fi/Alien horror film mix the unpredictable alien tropes with the reality of some powerful people in the soviet…
