Despite the fact that I have not played Silent Hill 2, this still felt exactly like watching one of those edits where they put all the cutscenes together to make a movie. And I have seen enough of this game to be able to tell that this seems to deter very little from the game. A lot of shot-for-shot stuff in the beginning, which is definitely the part I’ve seen and know the best. I actually would like to know if and how it differs from the original, so if you’ve played the game and seen this, let me know! But because I get the feeling that it’s so similar to the game, I feel like I can’t judge it inherently as a film and have to judge it strictly as an adaptation, which I can’t do because, as mentioned before, I haven’t played it. This definitely feels like one of those things where you have to ask “who is this for?” For someone like me, all the details are going to go over my head, and for a true fan of the games, I doubt they would prefer this over just playing the game? Also, if you told me that this was the same director as the original Silent Hill, I would not believe you. This movie is so much more glossy and bland with the flashback moments like a Tremfya commercial, and when the world changes, it looks like the upside down. Which I guess is just a testament to how digitalization and modernity have destroyed filmmaking across the board. The original movie has such a great look and feel with real sets and locations. I am 99% sure everything in return was shot on a green screen. 

Ej, w oderwaniu od gry ten scenariusz jest... w porządku, przede wszystkim dużo mniej łopatologiczny niż się spodziewałem. Szkoda że przeszkadza mu wszystko inne, na czele z iście paradokumentalnym aktorstwem i "popisami" operatora (ok, jeszcze Piramidogłowy jest spoczko, ale tego chyba się nie da zepsuć). Lepsi aktorzy, bardziej standardowy sposób kręcenia, i jestem pewien że dałoby się to oglądać bez bólu, na trzeźwo.
