Oddity è uno di quei film che punta tutto sull'atmosfera e sulla costruzione della tensione, ma che alla fine non riesce a trasformare le sue buone premesse in qualcosa di davvero memorabile. L'idea di base è interessante e alcune scelte visive sono sicuramente affascinanti, soprattutto nella creazione di un clima inquietante fatto di silenzi, ambienti isolati e dettagli disturbanti. Il problema è che il film procede troppo lentamente e spesso sembra più interessato a creare immagini suggestive che a sviluppare una storia realmente coinvolgente.…

Gave the ol heart a good scare after a long long time

This movie is cheeks bruh I kept waiting for things to get good but it only got worse. This movie did a horrible job of making me care about the characters. What a brilliant execution in revealing too much and not enough. The cgi is laughable. Continuity errors like crazy too. Bowling ball head ahh wooden guy is the best part of this movie and he’s barely utilized at all except for the ending which removes any built up fear I had towards him. Just lazy.

Even though it’s not too satisfying when you get to know what exactly happened, this film still has a super tight writing, smart jump scares that for sure got me in the guts (Especially the first major one I was not expecting. Holy F…). It’s all in the atmosphere and mood that is set throughout. It made me jittery - all the brilliant build ups, some of the refreshing things it did with a plot was very very affective. Overall a skilfully presented and written horror film. Without some of those clever spooky choices, I don’t think movie could have got to this level, with the plot that seems rather simple once it reveals itself. So props to the writer and director. Loved it.
