I'm- I'm, uh... I wanna go home and watch Adventure Time
So first off, I didn’t hate the film, but also didn’t love it as much as others. If I could give it a solid 3.25 that’s what I’d give it. Where the film falls off for me it the creature ship. Just wasn’t scary the more it was revealed. When it blew up the audience was verbally laughing out loud. That’s when I knew I wouldn’t get the satisfaction of a truly horror film I went in to see.

"this dream you're chasing, the one where you end up at the top of the mountain, all eyes on you, it's the dream you never wake up from."
Every (beautiful) image tells a story and every line is layered with meaning! The spectacle of violence and how we feel like we can’t look away. Why do we love to experience horror through stories? It’s about cinema itself. Spectacular.
Starting is slow but the ending is peak. The world building is very good and in some scenes I actualy got jump scare, like more than I expected (even more then Evil Dead 2 in some moments lol😄. Those wide shots of the desert sky feel empty but also scary at the same time, like something is always there but you cant see it properly. It creates this constant tention.
Simplest Jordan’s film out of all the films he has made. This legit reminded me of Steven Spielberg’s “War of the world” but this is more personal/existential than just a blockbuster sci fi that war of the world was. We all love to discuss regarding conspiracy theories about aliens and UFO. Jordan has made a brilliantly engaging film where I felt like I was with the actors trying to discover what that animal or alien is which is roaming near their house. The whole thing about “Claiming a territory” is so true not only for humans but even other worldly things. There’s one dialogue regarding their horse - “Ghost (Name of the horse) is behaving like it’s his territory. I think some animals ain’t fit to be trained”. This became true to even the thing that is roaming above them. Even humans had put “Private property no trespassing” signs which makes them claiming their territory. In reality…
what a beautiful beast lol
The genre switching felt kind of sudden and jarring, but everything else was really fun! That third act was amazing!
