People don’t believe that there’s a mermaid but still we try to find whether it’s truth or not or want to experience magical feeling of it. In Moothon, that mermaid comes in a very different forms in multiple characters’ life. For Akbar (Navin) and Ameer (Roshan Matthew), it comes in the form of love. That feeling that only they know when they are together but people around them find this love (Mermaid) a myth and it results in a bad fate for both of them. Then for Mulla it’s about finding her Brother and she also has got Aamina’s number which might take her to the brother. She even imagines mermaid (That was Aamina character by the way) rescuing her in the ocean. That was her expectation that this mermaid will help her.
