I just kept having to whisper to myself the entire time, "but he made Parasite, but he made Parasite, but he made Parasite"
Firstly I loved the book and I will remember it forever. Unfortunately I can’t say the same after watching the film but I can say it was enjoyable. Bong changed too many things compared to book. Way too many including the climax. Message remains the same but the book’s ending was more nuanced and had more impact on me. Also satirically, movie was not of the same level. Bong took very simplistic approach, also weakening some strong characters in the book like Marshall. Thankfully Mickey’s character was good. Robert played both the Mickeys superbly. Wish the film was more nuanced in its approach and added some more intriguing elements from the book. Still really enjoyable for sure but not as memorable as the book.
I love challengers
You're all going to hate it. Four stars.
Mickey 17 is funny but more political.
Apart from the scary-ass creatures, Robert Pattinson did an excellent job in multiple roles. Don’t expect something like Parasite or other great Bong Joon-ho films — but you won’t be disappointed. It’s fresh, unique, and humorous.
I love how Bong Joon Ho manages to tell the same story of classes over and over again and yet all of his movies feel distinct. Mickey 17 is no exception, it follows the typical style of the director, a satire comedy contrasted by elements of drama. Mark Ruffalo shines in his caricature role of an impirical leader, and so does Roberts in his own respective role, together they bring the comedic energy of the movie. Pattinson proves his range once again, playing 2 interations of the same character while being both distinct from one another. From the very first few shots of Mickey 18 we can tell that this is not our typical Mickey; Brilliant in subtility. Shout out to Bong Joon Ho for adding another entry to one of my favorite genres “Robert Patterson being greasy and smelly”… just as how he is meant to be. Beneath the fun and games there is a very important question of abuse, the abuse…
Ależ tutaj wszystko jest ZA BARDZO. Morały podawane ZA BARDZO in your face, ZA BARDZO przerysowane postacie, na czele z Markiem Ruffalo (który dodatkowo mocno przeszarżował), ZA BARDZO naiwne zakończenie.
