I really was looking forward to this movie simply because of how much it reminded me of Tetris (the movie), Mexico was hosting the world cup (in part at least) and beyond that I had also been on the hunt for good 20th century period pieces. TL;DR - it was alright. Obviously the art direction was on-point. The trailer did a great job of selling that, which is why i watched it. There's definitely some great humor in there, and Diego Luna is incredible in his performance. Having said that, the emotions didn't really land for me. I didn't find myself rooting for Martín, his ups and downs didn't seem to matter as much.
