Leonard Shelby is tracking down the man who raped and murdered his wife. The difficulty of locating his wife's killer, however, is compounded by the fact that he suffers from a rare, untreatable form of short-term memory loss. Although he can recall details of life before his accident, Leonard cannot remember what happened fifteen minutes ago, where he's going, or why.

Fucking Tymento
has a lot to say about memory, our perception of the world and how it can be manipulated. and I love how it says it with not only its text but also its form! the editing here, which can’t be thought of separately from its writing, works extremely well in favor of the themes of the story. reconstructing stories from ending to beginning, telling the story backwards and forwards at the same time and managing to meet a satisfying climax in the “middle” of it all.
Still fantastic on a second watch. Really want to watch the chronological cut to get a better grasp on everything, but I think this is one of the greatest pieces of storytelling I’ve ever seen.

Cool movie, but I really disliked that twist near the end. Ending was pretty solid tho. Premise and plot were really cool as well!
99/100 Once again, Christopher Nolan combines non-linear storytelling with incredible direction and a good script to deliver an incredible movie, far better than Following. Now, almost everyone knows the main gimmick of this movie in that it plays in reverse order. However, the usage of this is great as each scene reveals something new about each character. I'm constantly guessing and second-guessing what each character is and their role until the very end, especially with the character of "Teddy", played very well by Joe Pantoliano. This also helps put us in the shoes of the main character, helping experience his short-term memory loss, something that not only is a fun and unique plot device, but ties into the themes of the film, those of perception and how memory shapes it as well as its connection to belief, all handled very well.
