The story follows Chandra, a mysterious, goth-influenced woman who has just moved to Bangalore and begins working night shifts at a café. Across the road from her apartment live Sunny and Venu, two aimless bachelors. Sunny becomes infatuated with Chandra, observing her odd routines, strange visitors, and reclusive nature. Their dynamic changes when Sunny gets a glimpse of Chandra in her act.

Solid world building and writing are the main ingredients that work like magic here. It makes me so happy that focus was given on the above mentioned aspects because that’s one thing taken for granted in many superhero films. The world building, character origin story, cinematography, music and other supporting performances (Very funny) give this world a refreshing feel. Even when the film gets into familiar UNIVERSE TROPES in the second half, it maintained that feel throughout as the writing/world building never loses rooted/regional grounding. It doesn’t go overboard with anything. The neo-noir look of the film is one of my favourite things. Even the interior shots were beautiful to look at. Props to cinematographer Nimish Ravi and production designer Banglan. Kalyani silently kills it. Superb performance by her and also Sandy was absolutely epic. Action sequences are also executed…

Such good world-building and setups, although the second half had way too many, which felt like they used the screentime to show off an extended universe planned out for the future rather than focus on the plot at hand. Even so, Kalyani pulled off the stoic, calculating vampire feel so well. Finally a niche where her lack of acting chops actually helped with the character. Naslen was the lady-in-distress archetype with nothing much to do other than admire Kalyani. Understandable enough.
This one really surprised me!! Even after hearing good things about the movie, i wasn't expecting it to be better than any other superhero movie india ever produced, which had cliches from superhero origin movies and never impressed me in the way that i saw something that stands out or not a desperate superhero movie that lacks vision. (sorry for the rant) NCB to the review: i loved how the first half was a nice way to start to a superhero movie, that mystery around the character of chandra & how each side character stands out with nicely built story, inshort the first half was engaging and so likeable, i would definitely give 9/10 to the 1st half of movie.
