So Yeah, I'm only now watching it... Shut up. Overall this is a good movie. Not a masterpiece, but a very good start to a giant franchise, that actually does a good job just being a standalone movie. The Best aspect of this movie is Tony Stark himself. RDJ was perfectly cast in the role, and his charisma is put on full display here, which is part of the reason this character is so interesting. Another thing that makes him interesting is his backstory. the first third of the movie is the best part. It takes time to develop this character, but It doesn't really drag in the beginning at all either. I love how it shows the way that the whole event has caused him to change as a person. The 2nd act while not as tight, Is entertaining and I do like how you see him become Iron Man. But the third act is a pretty big letdown. Still incredible after all these years. Definition of aura farming. In 2008, they knew they needed at least two hours to tell a story with one main character, but know they can’t give two hours to a movie with four? This movie is so amazing in every way. Wonderfully cast, written, acted, and shot. Absolute all-time fave.
