Joel Barish, heartbroken that his girlfriend underwent a procedure to erase him from her memory, decides to do the same. However, as he watches his memories of her fade away, he realises that he still loves her, and may be too late to correct his mistake.

I don't know why I watched this, I really shouldn't have I just- I dunno it could help for something but all it did was make everything worse and yeah that's all it did. Great script though
A deep, moving, emotional experience. It's a sad yet uplifting look at relationships that are told in a subtle, complex, and original way. Jim Carrey is excellent and his chemistry with Kate Winslet is what makes the movie so compelling. The imagery is also very memorable. The locations you get back to often really stick to me personally. I wasn't even impressed with them at first but because they keep showing up, it really stuck out in my brain. The movie actually makes you feel like you are in Joel's situation. It's one of those movies where I was very confused on multiple occasions but I think it's purposeful since it adds to the immersion. The stuff in with Hulk, Frodo, and MJ wasn't as interesting as the stuff with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet but it's still a great addition to the film that does make a lot of sense to be there. Overall I loved it. It's a really profound and memorable experience that I will definitely be thinking about it and it's themes

Dużo by zyskał, gdyby w całości skupił się na relacji Clementine i Joela, bo wątek doktorków w ogóle mnie nie obszedł. Sekwencja z 4-letnim Joelem jest cringe'owa do tego stopnia, że aż lekko wybiła mnie z - co by nie mówić - dramatycznego tonu całości. Ale poza tym? To jeden z nielicznych filmów, przy których można połączyć frazę "mózg rozjebany" z "pękło mi serce". To też dzieło, o którym raczej niełatwo zapomnieć (hehe), czy to ze względu na oryginalność historii, czy to ze względu na tak celne ukazanie tego czym są ludzkie emocje i że są silniejsze niż zdrowy rozsądek (vide zakończenie), czy w końcu ze względu na piękne - i znowu - oryginalne scenografie. Napisałem, że sekwencja z Joelem-dzieckiem to cringe? Cofam, ten gigantyczny zlew mi to wynagradza. Cała obsada daje radę, ale włosy Kate Winslet to najlepszy aktor na planie, sorry not sorry. Pewnie by sobie tem film jeszcze trochę leżał na mojej watchliście, ale Severance S02E07. Dzięki.
