Massive letdown from Spielberg

#MyShit certified 💯  What a ride!!! 3 major acts are absolutely incredible. Sci-fi elements slaps hard. The whole writing and concept is thrilling and very entertaining. Yes, it’s not perfect but it never went off the grid even for a second. It’s totally intriguing. The last 30 minutes are exactly what I expected from Steven. That’s where you can tell this is a film by one of the greatest directors of all time, particularly in sci-fi.  More of a concept driven film that nails ambiguity and creating curiosity perfectly. This is where it has got slightly divided opinions I guess but open ending was truly effective for me and it lingers even after the film is over. When ambiguity has got weightage, it works. This is not a lazy writing in any sense. John William’s Music is vintage coded and it really took me back to Steven Spielberg’s classic sci-fi stuffs. This is totally up my alley and…

"He whispered, ‘Listen better.” So much of the reaction to this movie is so disheartening. This movie is for YOU! Yes, you, I’m talking to you. The way you feel about this movie is the entire point of the movie. When you give into negativity and pessimism, they win. They have successfully suppressed the belief in joy, hope, and the belief in something bigger than ourselves.

throughout its fairly generous runtime, the final twenty minutes were the only part that truly held my attention. the film had an interesting premise, but it needed a stronger screenplay to make it work. for the most part, it felt like an overly long and largely skippable episode of the x-files, only without mulder and scully to make the mystery worth following :(

Ok, czyli zgodnie z tym co słyszałem, Spielberg to kinematograficzny boomer który jedzie na dawno przetartych kliszach i nawet nie próbuje ich w jakikolwiek sposób przełamać. Ale i tak najmocniej w tym filmie boli brak chociaż jednej dobrze napisanej postaci, bo wszystkie są w wyraźny sposób narzędziami do osiągnięcia celu, a ta grana przez Emily Blunt która ma najwięcej czasu, jest w najlepszym wypadku średnio pogłębiona. No i to zakończenie rodem z tandetnego serialu typu mystery xD. Boli tym bardziej, że wystarczyło pójść w tę najbardziej oczywistą stronę i byłby to prawdopodobnie najmocniejszy punkt całości.
