2026 Ranked "Now, who remembers what Vasudeva, the ferryman, said to Siddhartha on the banks of the Ganges River?" "He whispered, ‘Listen better.” So much of the reaction to this movie is so disheartening. This movie is for YOU! Yes, you, I’m talking to you. The way you feel about this movie is the entire point of the movie. When you give into negativity and pessimism, they win. They have successfully suppressed the belief in joy, hope, and the belief in something bigger than ourselves.  “We used to look up in the sky and wonder at our place in the stars; now, we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt.” Everything is a cycle, and this is not the end. It can’t be. There has to be a light around the corner.  In this watch, I liked the things I liked more, and the things I didn’t love last time made more sense to me. I usually like watching new movies over rewatching stuff, so I can’t say when I’ll watch this again, but this is definitely one of the best and most important movies of the 2020s. I don’t know if it will be number one of 2026 by the end of the year or even next week when the Odyssey comes out, but it will definitely stay in the top four.  Hopefully, I can get myself together and watch Close Encounters soon because I really want to see how these movies connect.
