"They should've sent a poet."
Zemeckis-fest I believe that this was what Spielberg was going for in Disclosure Day. Using extraterrestrials to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of humanity. While I still believe that that is an important film, I can’t help but think that in its simplicity, this movie executes that idea better. Maybe less hopeful but more realistic. The question this movie asks is which is right: religion or science? And of course, the answer is both. They are not mutually exclusive, and as this movie shows, even science requires faith.
