The invasion of a village in Belarus by German forces sends young Flyora into the forest to join the weary Resistance fighters, against his family's wishes. There he meets a girl, Glasha, who accompanies him back to his village. On returning home, Flyora finds his family and fellow peasants massacred. His continued survival amidst the brutal debris of war becomes increasingly nightmarish, a battle between despair and hope.

“Hitler the Liberator” BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG
我不會說我理解這部片的高明之處 但不得不佩服它在戰爭電影史上的地位 它的寫實呈現讓我不覺得在看電影

Roger Deakins while talking about this film he said “He created a beauty with ugliness” That’s so on point what he said. This is actually the most rarest war movie that explores an angle of war that’s the most disturbing ever. On top of that shooting it, writing it and executing it is the toughest part. Some of the set pieces were so challenging yet it was stunningly shot and executed. I don’t think showing something like that is easy but this was bang on MASTERPIECE. The anger that boy felt in the end, I felt it too. Especially the way characters see straight into our eyes made it much more immersive and you feel that connection to them. That immediacy and intensity in the direction made it even better. My most favourite scene was when the lead is in the field with a cow and suddenly tracer bullet starts coming right at them. That was one hell of an epic scene that I can’t forget and…

Flyora: To love... to have children... watched this one with my dad, definitely not an easy watch. he got bored not even halfway through and fell asleep lol, which makes sense, given how the film builds slowly and quietly. on the other hand, i was mesmerized. no other war film truly captures the sheer horror of what war is really like than Come and See. there's just something about this that leaves you completely speechless; like the way the camera forces you to look directly into Flyora’s eyes as his face quite literally wrinkles and ages from shock. i swear that one shot of him with tears running down his face, absolutely traumatized is just ingrained into my mind. i’m not articulate enough with my words to express it fully, but who cares anyway, most profound things are inexpressible. awesome depiction of what the dehumanizing horrors of war really are and should be a mandatory watch for edgy teens who idolize hitler and glorify war.
