Queerwalkers I appreciate the animation style, but it didn’t work for my personal taste. That was my biggest issue with the movie. And yeah I do agree it has reminds me of Princess Mononoke.
Classic adventurous story of a kingdom with a bad leader at the helm plus added metaphor for discrimination against girls, asked to be at home, being caged. All these sounds way too deep but it’s the gorgeous immersive animation and stunning fantasy folklore that makes this an epic watch. For some reason it even reminded me of the classic lion king. Not the story but the “FEELING”. That childhood feeling of watching something beautiful and you know where story is going yet staying so connected to the beauty of it - Like I felt like I want to be one of the wolfwalkers. If this childhood feeling or that imagination I got now, then that’s the biggest achievement of this animated film.
