Ce qui aurait pu être un excellent thriller (s’il avait été bien exécuté) voit ses quelques bonnes idées contrecarrées par une narration brouillonne et des longueurs dont on aurait pu se passer. J'avais déjà vu ce film aux alentours de 2020. Il m'avait marquée, ce que je peine à comprendre aujourd'hui : ce n'est pas médiocre, mais c'est loin de secouer. C'est un film ni bon ni mauvais. Comme on en fait mille. Néanmoins, l'acting de Juliette Binoche mérite, à bien des égards, d'être souligné. C'est peut-être l'un des seuls points qui rendent le film plus ou moins digeste. What could have been an excellently crafted thriller (had it been properly executed) is marred by a messy narrative and unnecessary drags. I first saw this film around 2020. It stuck with me, though I struggle to understand why today: it’s not a mediocre film, but it’s far from groundbreaking. It’s a decent film, neither good nor bad. Just like a thousand of others. Nonetheless, Juliette Binoche’s performance was noteworthy. It’s perhaps one of the few things that make the film somewhat palatable.
