An immersive look at the life of Maíra, a woman who lives in a small seaside town where she works as a masseuse in a resort. She pends her days in a routine without great enthusiasm and prospects, dividing herself between a bland job, a distant husband and long walks around the neighborhood. One afternoon, she is faced with an event that reverberates inside Maíra as an impulse to review her life as a whole.

Usually I don’t compare, but two courtroom drama films of 2020 - The trail of the Chicago 7 and Mangrove - both based on the protests of the 20th century, both being an utmost significance for the time, both being some of the most historic achievement for their respective defendants and society as a whole. But Steve does it a lot better than Aaron in staging the trial (Both are great films nonetheless), giving us an hour of in depth character traits, their relationship with the people and multiple inciting incidents that leads to the masterfully written courtroom scenes with Oscar worthy performances by Letitia Wright, Malachi Kirby and Shaun Parkes.
