Un bon début, quelques belles images, mais, soudain, le film nous lance à la figure une avalanche d'ennui et de riens. Entre les longues conversations triviales et les gros plans parfois étouffants, on trouve tout de même de jolies répliques. On les compte au nombre de une ou deux, mais mieux vaut trouver du positif dans le négatif ! Pour la faire simple : "Whale" est un film où l'ennui se mêle au néant. A promising opening and some excellent cinematography, though the film soon descends into boredom and banality. Between the lengthy, insubstantial dialogues and the suffocating close-ups, the film does offer some well-written lines. While not entirely without merit, it is by no means the best film I have seen this year. I can only think of one or two, but it's worth noting the film's positive aspects... All in all, “Whale” is a film in which boredom and meaninglessness are intertwined.
