“Knives out” of horror comedy genre with funny goofy characters and few smart writing but it all wears off by the time it reaches the final minutes. I wish the characters maintained the same charm till the end instead writing becomes too focused on making characters a tad eccentric than already they are, for the sake of making viewers think whether there is any werewolf or not. Yes, this kinda subvert and confusing viewers is fun but here it didn’t work for me as I had my doubts regarding this question in the beginning of the film only and my guess came to be right in the end. Which is why I couldn’t rate it higher than 3. But I will have to say all the characters were funny, mostly written well and all the actors had that charm in their performances. One of the scenes where one of the characters is explaining about the male beast “Windigo” and to that one of them replies “It’s like an euphemism for white male”. I cried laughing to this. This kinda smart writing occasionally made this a fun watch.
