Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery2025

An incredibly relevant, if unsubtle, film.  I love the aesthetics of the film, much more in line with the first, and the mystery is not just interesting but thematic. The characters, while mostly insufferable, are all entertaining, and Blanc is at top form as always.  I have no respect for Catholicism, whose entire purpose in Christendom seems to be to separate the body from Christ and create these idols, symbols, and rituals to serve as unnecessary middlemen in a simple two-part transaction. Which is exactly what Christ came to this world to end. I digress. The point being that this film is explicit in its criticism of modern right-wing Christianity. Which is not Christianity. It is cultish and disturbing. But the teaching and belief of and in Christ have been perverted from the beginning. But it seems more blatant than ever. Or at least more than when I was a child. Or maybe I just see it now.  This world is lost, and things have only gotten worse with the new rise of modesty and conservatism. Maybe, just maybe, things will go back to normal, but probably not. Maybe things can just be okay.
