Definitely victim to some corporate editing just like the others. after the exposition train finally ends the movie is really fun, but I can’t begin to say how uninterested I am in the non eddy/venom stuff. The two scientists are literally one “interesting” factoid about themselves and then they become expedition dumps. Yawn. I would rather not know anything about them or have the movie take the time to actually develop them. Also this movie continues the venom trend of pacing problems especially in the beginning of the movie. They worked so hard to connect it to the last movies post credit scene and it just wasn’t necessary. When the movie finally slows down it gets pretty good. But it’s just too damn fast of a plot. Every venom movie I’ve seen has felt like it could be really good with better editing. It’s still pretty enjoyable but I was really hoping for more breathing room in the “final” film.
