Heroin addict Mark Renton stumbles through bad ideas and sobriety attempts with his unreliable friends --Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud and Tommy. He also has an underage girlfriend, Diane, along for the ride. After cleaning up and moving from Edinburgh to London, Mark finds he can't escape the life he left behind as Begbie and Sick Boy come knocking.

Doss shite movie. So this movie took me 4 attempts until I finally finished it. It was so boring and hard to get through. I don’t get the appeal and the high rating this film gets. Also, the Scottish accent made it harder for me to follow as well. I was near the end and still didn’t understand what the plot was of the entire movie. Maybe if I try heroin I’ll like it.
...wow i don't know what's weirder. me watching this wild, drug-fueled fever dream with my entire family or me choosing that exact moment to come out of the closet. honestly, probably traumatizing for them on multiple levels (sorry, not sorry) anyway, back to the movie. there’s a lot of shit going on, literally and figuratively, and somehow the chaotic, filthy, existential mess of it all just spoke to me. i LOVED it. the dark humour, the grimy aesthetic, the absolute madness. perfection. ewan mcgregor? obsessed. this film is a messed-up masterpiece, and i can’t believe it took me this long to watch it. 10 out of 10, would emotionally destabilize my family again!!
