The Wailing is the perfect blend of so many horror genres and dark comedy and has an intense focus on detail. It is one of the best contemporary horror movies i've seen.
what a ride. the movie was so damn good, full of eerie suspense and just the right amount of ambiguity that kept me hooked till the end. the cast was incredible, every performance hit hard, especially during the more intense scenes. what really caught me off guard were the moments that made me laugh out loud, super rare for a horror film but it worked so well. what stuck with me the most, though, was how the film handled blame and perception. it delivered a sharp message about how quickly society (and we, the audience) are ready to point fingers at a woman the moment a man shifts the narrative, exactly what happened with moomyeong. it was clever, unsettling, and way too real. overall, not your average horror movie. creepy, clever, and meaningful. i loved it.
