Finally found a Sofia Coppola movie I actually like. It’s dreamy, unsettling, and strangely delicate for how dark it is. The whole thing plays like a memory you’re not sure is yours. Half nostalgia, half ghost story. The girls aren’t characters so much as echoes, filtered through the boys’ clueless longing. And that’s the point. You never really know them. Just the haunting shape they left behind. It’s gorgeous, sad, and frustrating in a way that lingers.

“In the end we had pieces of the puzzle, but no matter how we put them together, gaps remained. Oddly shaped emptiness mapped by what surrounded them, like countries we couldn't name. What lingered after them was not life, but the most trivial list of mundane facts. A clock ticking on the wall, a room dim at noon, the outrageousness of a human being thinking only of herself.”

I loved how it felt! I'll be watching all films directed by Sofia Coppola for a project, in chronological order (at least I’ll try)
