This film gave me that Hitchcock vibe from The Paradine Case. And just like that one it left me confused. (I mean, did he or didn't he? Or what the hell did really happened?). Probably Kore-eda's most polarizing and divisive work to date. But at the same time, I don't think it's a mess.
