In postwar Vienna, Austria, Holly Martins, a writer of pulp Westerns, arrives penniless as a guest of his childhood chum Harry Lime, only to learn he has died. Martins develops a conspiracy theory after learning of a "third man" present at the time of Harry's death, running into interference from British officer Major Calloway, and falling head-over-heels for Harry's grief-stricken lover, Anna.

I think this is a perfect movie. I have seen very few movies where everything works perfectly. It’s also an incredible looking movie. Highly recommend watching it, especially if you’re a fan of mysteries
A story of deceit, love, and murder! Holly Martins arrives in Vienna to find that his friend Harry Lime has died, hit by a car. Martins learns that three men helped carry away Lime’s body: Kurtz, Popescu, and a mysterious person whose identity remains a secret. Follow Holly Martins as he discovers the identity of… THE THIRD MAN! What a beautifully shot film. Completely gorgeous in every way. The decrepit backdrop of postwar Vienna adds such an incredible air of unease to the film, not to mention all the Dutch angles. It makes such a real film feel almost surreal. Completely deserving of its status as a classic. I am very excited to watch this film again. Mysteries Ranked
