One of two film adaptations I remember being really disappointed with as a kid, the other being Inkheart. But at least that movie had a phenomenal cast and was only adapting one book instead of three.  This movie is so rushed. Every character is so one-note, and so much is overexplained in such an unrealistic way. To be fair, I haven’t read the books since I was a child, but there is still so much that I remember that was just cut out from this adaptation.  Also, everyone is such an asshole to the main kid, where it’s like “hmm, I wonder why he has behavioral issues?”
