This movie doesn’t go as far as it should. A lot of this stuff is just out in the open or obvious now. I do like that there is no real “good guys,” and the people who help the protagonist are still only doing it for their own selfish ends. And even the protagonist is shown to have a history of abandoning his friends for a chance of moving up in the world. If none of this happened to him, he would have never had any issues with the club.  One of the best scenes in the movie is when he is at a white-tie party, and a group of hot girls walk in, and Higher by Creed starts playing. And then, while the song keeps playing, we get a montage of him getting a sports car and a nicer dorm and getting everything he ever wanted. It is then followed by one of the most tragic things to ever happen to a person.  We are sold an idea of what we should be, what our lives should look like. And so many judge everything in their life by that picture in their head.
