This doesn’t feel much like a horror movie time because while there are scary moments, the overall tone is more mysterious and there are plenty of warm moments. I’d also say the conclusion isn’t inherently pessimistic, and deals more in the unconscious. It has some incredible performances and amazing direction that I think even outweigh the story which is really interesting and thought provoking

the movie's eerie and slow burning in the best way, with this constant feeling that something’s just off. i actually figured out the twist a bit before the reveal, but it still hit hard, mostly because the acting was so damn good. the ending was done beautifully. and that scene where cole talks to his mum about the grandma? i cried like a baby. it just broke me. major props to the whole cast, every performance felt real and honest.
