Whenever it’s David Cronenberg-ish I love it and whenever it’s not, it didn’t work for me. It’s soo interesting yet it also doesn’t land well always. When it comes to core concept of grief, it absolutely works. Mixing it with technology exploitation and all are so interesting/unique and it’s what makes this David Cronenberg-ish, yet in the end it didn’t quiet land for me. Performances are top notch. It’s a proper 3 stars Sci-fi film.
I don't think I know how to rate this movie so I won't. It's fascinating, imaginative and full of ideas although it's not the most compelling narrative story. But the ideas are floating around in my head and I bet they stay there a while. I also really wanted to hug my wife when I got home. Just not too hard. Did anyone else notice David Cronenbergs body, mouth agape, on a stretcher outside the restaurant? Pretty good! My fellow moviegoers loved the missing fingers reveal. Cronenberg said he outsourced his memory to his phone on The Big Picture and I think the finger reveal may be an inside joke about that lol
