Princess Margaret is travelling incognito to elope with her true love instead of marrying the man her father has betrothed her to. On the high seas, her ship is attacked by pirates who know her identity and plan to kidnap her and hold her for a king's ransom.

Probably the least funny Bob Hope movie I’ve seen as far as I remember, but that production design. All the costumes are so beautiful it’s at least worth watching it for that. Unfortunately, the funniest part is when Bing Crosby shows up at the end to steal the girl. I really love the meta-continuity of all of Bob Hope’s films, but I do think the fourth wall breaks work the best in the Road To films. It just feels a little by the numbers here.
