Okay, the last review sucked, but here is the actual one I freaking hated the fact that I knew that Christian Bale played both because I knew that it was him in the first courtroom scene, but I didn't put the two and two together and thought that he just played his twin and it would be a minor reveal later. It was not just a minor reveal. Also this cast is like my dream cast for any movie ever. All it was missing was Adam Sandler. Please Christopher Nolan, just do the remake where Matt Damon is Adam Sandler in Interstellar. Just for me, please.

Very different than I expected. But also very Christopher Nolan.

A movie about cinema itself. Do we want to know the truth or do we actually enjoy being tricked? Maybe in this line of work it is better to only know the tricks and how they’re made if you’re going to use them as well.  Every line here is a clue about the truth of the story. So when it talks about magic, it talks about movies in general and the movie itself. It does meta in a sort of natural way. The discussions between the main two are incredibly interesting and become spectacular when framed in an actual dual of magicians seeing who can best the other.  Borden's idea of total devotion to the craft is so interesting, how it can be good to immerse yourself entirely into your work if the result isa proper work of art.

Just like any magic trick once you know the method it all becomes so obvious. But here it doesn’t take away any enjoyment it only adds to it. I always enjoyed Nolan’s movies but now I’m a certified Nolan shill. He is an absolute master of his craft.

86/100 This is, in my opinion, the most complex of the Nolan films so far, mostly through the narrative itself rather than the way it's presented, as Memento is his most non-linear work. However, though the film is complex to the point of confusion at times, it is still a great movie. The strongest point of the film, in my opinion, is how the characters are handled and performed. The central duo is a rivalry between Hugh Jackman as Robert Angier and Christian Bale as Alfred Borden. These two's rivalry dominates the film, and it is extremely well-written. Rivalries are a character dynamic I particularly enjoy because most of the time, whenever I see them, they're extremely well-written, and it's no different here. Nolan's screenplay shows you how this rivalry slowly destroys the lives of these men that had the potential for happiness. I also enjoyed several of the side characters'…

I took few hours to research after completing the movie and what was the part I missed and not getting the same satisfaction I got after completing Memento and Inception, now I have got my answer and it was me that I expected movies like that it to be... What I missed was the psychological angle of every nolan movie I have watched and the emotional shock like in interstellar. It is not giving me that level of mental satisfaction which made nolan one of my favourite director, but I would give it a try in future if I feel like that...
