Mother Nature but it's actually an old shepherd with a big mustache the movie finds its meaning and plot in its very own name “the man who planted trees” as simple as that. Slowly but surely he sat on a self-imposed mission, to bring life where it has faded, defying nature and mankind itself. Maybe he wasn't a normal man, through all his loneliness he planted trees, with his sadness and his bees he kept his silence and through his pain he did all of this, never wavering back despite his body decaying to time. never conceding to pain nor temptation, truly a man unlike the rest of us, watching him alongside the narrator, we can only gawk at this man's unwavering will. Maybe he wasn't a man, as I saw him, I saw something beyond his human form, something almost godly and religious, like prophet sent by the God… or a man that turned himself into one The animation and narration flowed together seamlessly creating a story of great grandeur, it's abstract and it lacks details but it draws you in like child witnessing a legend unfolding in the comfort of his bed.
