The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King2003

“I didn't think it would end this way.” “End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass... And then you see it.” “What? Gandalf?... See what?” “White shores... and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.” “Well, that isn't so bad.” “No... No it isn't.” I don’t know if it’s to my detriment or this movie’s praise, and perhaps it’s due to the vast multitude of times I’ve seen it, but I find it very hard to do anything other than enjoy this movie. A film that in my unnatural long life I have never seen in the theatre before. A film and a trilogy that is truly majestic, completely perfect with the most deserved ending of all time.  I think these and this movie are so important to be seen, especially at a young age. To show good will not always triumph over evil, but that it must. And that there is always a blossom or a star or a ray of sunlight. There is always hope.  “Ónen i-Estel Edain.” “I give hope to men.” “Ú-chebin estel anim.” “I keep none for myself.” Darkness has spread over our land, but we must take heart and take hope that there will be a new dawn. Evil can never truly win.  It’s no secret that Sam is the absolute heart of this series. His unwavering faith in their mission, his friendship with Frodo, and his love. He has so much love for Frodo, for the Shire, and for the good in the world. If anyone could go home at the end of such a journey, it’s him.  There is so much, too much to say about this movie. And at the end of the day, it really just speaks for itself.  “My dear Sam. You cannot always be torn in two. You will have to be one and whole for many years. You have so much to enjoy and to be and to do. Your part in the story will go on.”
