SPOILER - Many times god, hell and even satan is mentioned in the film. Lead character Ellie doesn’t believe in god. But she’s asked two times to try to get something she believes in. Her love for Aster was what she totally believed in but it turned out messy, horrible and selfish and bold as she herself concludes in the end. She finally realises herself more than before. She will not go to hell for loving Aster as Paul says “It’s a sin”. She will not pretend to be someone else. She will just be like many of us looking for something they believe in (Final scene in the train. She observes others❤️❤️) and searching for that other half won’t end here. Maybe love is god Or god is love irrespective of however it comes? Either ways it’s a much needed exploration of love for all.
