The Flash2023

Come on Barbie.  Let’s go Party? the only thing I couldn’t see coming was how ugly those babies would look…wow. I spent that whole scene thinking it’d be revealed to be some weird nightmare that the Flash is having and it never came. Maybe the whole movie is the nightmare? It sure isn’t pretty to look at.  I’d have to rewatch (unlikely) to see if most of the shots are really bad but every CGI shot in this super hero movie looks ugly. Some scenes even look like video game cutscenes that blend with gameplay. Of course this makes the action extremely hard to care about since everything feels weightless. When Barry does that pose right before starting to run, it looks great. But then when he does start to run it looks stupid. So what about the story? It’s extremely predictable. So when it starts you are not engaged in what’s happening at all. And when you could be engaged the movie gets flooded with references and cameos to make you point to the screen, smile and say “hey, I know that thing!!” only if you were already engaged with those other movies and even like behind the scenes information(??)  I did like that one scene at the end with the mom…but not much else
