"Some People Just Need A Little Help Once In A While." Robert Pattinson’s southern accent had me dead lmao. You can hear that he didn’t use a dialect coach and opted to create one himself. The entire cast deliver good performances. I wasn’t a fan of the narration because as a viewer I would like to be able to make inferences on what is happening however it didn’t completely turn me off. I am aware the film is an adaptation of southern gothic novels. The film obviously had a strong theme about religion, more specifically Christianity. This is evident when we’re shown how Willard uses his faith to excuse some of the deeds he committed during active service. The couple who accrued victims, as some sort of religious ritual or practice. I’m pointing this out because it became more than a thrill for them, it became a habit like praying or going to church. Delusional is the word that comes few times and also defines the set of characters’ (Memorable performances by Tom, Robert and other supporting actors) upbringing in the film who are so religious that they think sacrificing one of the members would resurrect another. The devil is right there straight in front of them, in themselves but they can’t see it. Such is the definition of being delusional and extremely religious. This theme it explores very well. But what it doesn’t do well is the editing. It’s not crisp and narration throughout the film ruined my experience a bit. Some of the films don’t need in depth narration after every scene.  Really hope that they release an alternative version where there’s no narration. Blade runner (1982) faced the same thing. People hated the narration and spoon feeding. Many alternative versions were released and it became cult classic. Anyways fingers crossed for Alternative version of “The devil all the time”
