Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal. The disparate group includes rebel John, princess Claire, outcast Allison, brainy Brian and Andrew, the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently -- and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same.

Probably the most realistic and intelligent teen movie of all time. The characters all feel so genuine and complex, and seeing them develop together is really entertaining. The acting is also really good, and the movie went by insanely quickly, despite really not having a story. Will say though that the ending was kinda disappointing. It came out of nowhere and I hated the fact that a movie with pretty deep and unique ideas ended in such a cookie-cutter way. Other than that though it's another 80s classic.
i guess it's fine but i hate how claire had to change allison just because; and all of bender's sexual harassment towards claire and how they got together in the end
