After a chance encounter, headstrong Kathy is drawn to Benny, member of Midwestern motorcycle club the Vandals. As the club transforms into a dangerous underworld of violence, Benny must choose between Kathy and his loyalty to the club.

You watch any movie of Jeff Nichols, the word that comes to me immediately is “Subdued”. Everything is so smooth and subdued in his films. Not a single thing is like exaggerated for the sake of commercial appeal or anything. He just does pure drama that is suitable for the characters he has written. And nothing more. “The bikeriders” is exactly that. It’s not trying to be “Best movie ever made”. Jeff’s intention is just to be true to the real life story that has some great performances by everybody. The 3 leads (Austin, Jodie and Tom) are excellent, Tom Hardy being my favourite here. This is more of a character-driven film than plot-driven. I liked it.

One of my favorite Tom Hardy voices. This felt kinda like a Scorsese movie and I’m sure that’s not because the preshow compared it to a Scorsese movie. Forgot to add that jean jackets are making a comeback … especially jean jackets with enamel pins to show off your style
