The Big Red White and Blue

Steve really is an absolute legend. Great Directors give one gem in a year usually and Steve is churning out masterpieces after masterpieces in this small axe series in just a single year. This particular film though is the most subtlest of all so far (Mangrove, Lovers rock) yet masterfully punchy and tragic. Brilliant cinematography yet again here and the best thing about this is the ending. Multiple scenes towards the end could have been an ending scene or shot. In 3 scenes towards the end I thought “Wow such a great ending” but then it jumps to another brilliant scene and just when I thought “This is the perfect shot to end a film”, it cuts to another scene which in fact is the best scene in the film. Almost like the lead character (Phenomenal John Boyega) who is trying to change the police system in London has come a full circle.
