Tales From The Lodge is a fresh take on the portmanteau horror-comedy genre. An isolated lodge somewhere in England. Five old university pals, now nudging 40, gather for a weekend to scatter the ashes of their friend, Jonesy, who drowned himself in the lake three years earlier. They settle in for a fun evening, entertaining each other with stories of murders, ghosts, zombies and possessions, but as day turns to night, the gang become aware of another horror story unfolding around them - And this one is real.

Just 7 minutes into this supposedly horror film, it shocked me in a way that I was never ever expecting. The slow burn starts from here and then in the end it gives another shock that totally twist “Horror” genre into something I had not seen before or expected it to happen in any supposedly horror film (Some horror fans who expected it to be your typical horror stuffs will be disappointed. No wonder public opinion is avg). More than it being scary, this was highly highly disturbing, not gory or anything. Disturbing just to imagine some stuffs and reading characters’ mind. Best thing this film did was completely twisting the genre in the end and secondly this is not like those other psychological horror/thriller stuff where you sympathise some characters. This film totally confused me time and again when it comes to sympathising any character especially towards the end and turned my conditioned-horror-Film-mind to pieces by literally changing the whole dynamics of a generic horror film.
