Supergirl2026

I just got out of Supergirl, a film which has been receiving middling reviews, a fact that I am very much surprised by. What I saw was a fun space adventure with a lot of James Gunn influence and inspiration. While I have a few problems, none of them outweighed the fun I had with the film.  SPOILERS I just had a good time, plain and simple. I liked Kara and how she felt different from Clark because of her upbringing and her age when she left Krypton. They are both good, but where for Clark it comes naturally, Kara has to work for it or perhaps work against it.  OK, so the one thing I was thinking about while I was watching it is how much agency they are taking away from the young girl. Like, to me, she should be able to get revenge, and it got a little old every time Kara told her not to do it. But thinking about it, I know she’s only saying that because she knows it’s what she’s supposed to do. Trying to live up to her mother’s request. But also, I think there is a little jealousy. Because Kara can never get revenge. Because the Kryptonians killed themselves in their hubris. There is no satisfaction, and all she is left with is the memories. That’s why it’s important that her life is her revenge and that her family and loved ones live through her.  So I guess what I’m saying is that maybe it could have been executed better, but it all makes sense. And again, it had no detriment to my enjoyment. Also, maybe I would have taken less but more impactful needle drops. I know we’re making a Gunn-like but still. They all kind of wash together at a certain point.  Incredible creature designs. It was very cool seeing so many different kinds of aliens. And Jason Momoa is definitely more suited for Lobo than he was for Aquaman.  I, as usual, am the only beacon for taste and culture on this app, so if you want to go by anyone’s review, go by mine. Watch Supergirl. Have fun. Enjoy life. I love you.
