using this to log the summer hikaru died manga! (as of now i have yet to watch the anime im sooo geekeddd) reading the manga is truly an experience. truly, Mokumokuren has created something that has transcended the supernatural genre. beautifully horrific, and it’s arguably one of the most honest depictions of loss i’ve ever read. not to sound like a pretentious purist who hates new fans, but i was actually horrified when i saw that tshd started getting popular because the manga is so deeply personal to me. i was there when the first chapters of the manga came out, and upon reading it for the first time i knew this was a one of a kind work. i wanted the world to recognize the brilliance of this wonderful manga, but i simultaneously wanted to hide it away at the same time for fear that this beautifully tragic story gets reduced to just "lol doomed yaoi omg this is so freaky" because it is so much more than that. i love love LOVE the metaphors, you have to let the allegories and symbolisms really marinate; you have to sit with it until it fully soaks in. its just great.
