Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse2023

Seeing all the different animation styles was awesome.  I enjoyed Gwen’s watercolor world the most, but Spider-Punk looked cool too.  This movie was similar to the first but with enhancements that improved the style.  This time, I could almost feel the comic pages turn as you switch to new scenes.  I’d love to see all the shots laid out.  I also enjoyed the story.  It hit the right emotional beats and I was glad that Spider Gwen was well developed.  The bad: this movie was entirely too long.  I’ve been watching a lot of shitty 80s movies and they are so good with a 90 minute runtime. Give me an hour and Final Cut Pro and I can edit SMATU to perfection. Finally, the entire superhero genre is stale. This felt stale but it has more life than the live action films.
